And I’m Never Going to Another Local Convenience Store Ever Again…

Customer paying with NFC technology by credit card

Once upon a time, there was a boy named Ryan who frequently visited a 7-11 store near their home. The attendant at the store, whose name was John, always greeted Ryan with a warm smile and a friendly hello. One day, as Ryan was leaving the store, John called out, “Thanks for coming back, Ryan! You’re always welcome here. Consider this your second home.”

Ryan was taken aback by the personal touch and felt a sense of belonging. It made Ryan feel valued and appreciated as a customer. From that day on, Ryan made sure to visit the 7-11 store more often and always looked forward to chatting with John. The simple personalized interaction made Ryan feel amazing and Ryan realized the power of small gestures in making someone’s day.

Okay – so maybe this is more fairytale story format than the actual events, but the owner of the 7-11 near my place dropped my name as I was leaving his store. This isn’t magic, this isn’t a master memory he has – he just took half a second, looked at the credit card receipt and read my name.

He just won my business for the foreseeable future on an intersection where I have 3 different convenience store options.
